Don Gillis (1912-1978) was Arturo Toscanini's producer for the NBC Symphony broadcasts and a fine composer in the "wide-open spaces" American style. Just the same, this music seems to work with this classic Melies film.

A big hit in 1964, this remake of a 1959 British song was one of the first non-Beatles songs to become an icon of the early '60s "British Invasion". The Swinging Blue Jeans (Ralph Ellis, Ray Ennis and Terry Sylvester) disbanded in 1968 when Sylvester left them to replace Graham Nash in the Hollies.
